The Coin Lords are a group of merchants who work closely with the human nobility to control all trade in Faerstice. They are an incredibly powerful organization that can and have fielded their own mercenary armies when times have called for such action. Many of the wars between the human kingdoms were rumored to have started based on the dealings of the Coin Lords. They will do whatever is necessary to acquire profits, and their legality of their actions doesn't bother them or any who uphold the law. Bribes and donations are strategically placed to ensure a steady flow of profits.
Membership within the Coin Lords, even at the lowest level, requires massive amounts of wealth or skill. An existing member must vouch for any prospect, and they must then prove their worth to the organization. After several years of steady earning, they are given a permanent place in the group along with all the benefits that entails.
